This is a rare item. Suspension seat posts were popular in the early 1900s, a time of intense innovation in the cycle trade and an era when spring frame bicycles were being made as well as sprung forks (both front and rear).

I’ve tried various types of sprung saddle supports, and I can’t honestly say that I enjoy bouncing in my saddle. But I can appreciate that in the early 1900s when roads were bumpy and full of potholes they might have provided a softer ride.
